The Children Act 2004

The Children Act 2004 is an expansion of the 1989 Children Act. The 2004 Act reinforces that all people and organisations working with children have a duty to help safeguard children and protect their welfare. The main purpose of the Children Act 2004 is to make Britain a safer place for children.

Managing cases of Forced Marriage and Honour Based Abuse is all about managing risk and getting the risk assessment spot on. Shift work linked to mental health issues, China study finds

Shift work is linked to mental health issues and lifestyle factors can play a role, according to researchers in China. Data for nearly 176,000 workers revealed that shift work was significantly associated with a higher risk of depression and anxiety, and lifestyle factors such as smoking, drinking habits, sedentary time, body mass index and sleep duration also had an effect. Shift frequency and individuals newly involved in shift work were also found to have a significant effect on whether workers develop depression and anxiety.

Dementia carers needed for £1.23 million UEA digital therapy platform

A new project to help carers looking after people with dementia hopes it will improve their mental health. Researchers at the University of East Anglia have created a digital therapy platform, for use on mobile devices, as part of the £1.23m project.
