We’re thrilled to celebrate the amazing success of one of our learners, Emma Rutterford-Dawkins!
Emma has absolutely smashed her apprenticeship with us, achieving a Distinction in Level 5 Leader in Adult Care 👏
Here’s Emma earlier this month at the Kent & Medway Apprentice Graduation Ceremony 🎓
Here’s what Emma had to say about her experience completing her apprenticeship with Quest:
"Taking part in the apprenticeship has been a truly rewarding and transformative experience. When I first enrolled, I wasn’t sure how I’d manage it all — balancing a new job role, studying, and looking after two young children. There were plenty of evenings where I fell asleep with my laptop still open! But with the guidance of my excellent assessor, the encouragement of a supportive team and management, and a fair bit of determination, I found my rhythm and began to truly enjoy the process of learning again.
My journey through education hasn’t always been easy. I was the child who had to work that little bit harder, stay up that little bit longer, and re-read things one more time. I didn’t always get things straight away, but I always gave 100% of myself. Over time, I realised that success looks different for everyone — and that progress, not perfection, is what really matters. That lesson reignited my love for learning and inspired me to invest in my own growth through this apprenticeship.
I also chose to complete this qualification so that I could better support the staff members I supervise who are completing their own apprenticeships. I wanted to understand their journey from the inside — the challenges, the time pressures, and the sense of accomplishment — so that I could guide and encourage them more effectively.
There were certainly highs and lows — moments of self-doubt and exhaustion, balanced by huge feelings of pride and achievement. What stands out most, though, is how the apprenticeship has empowered me both personally and professionally. It’s reminded me how important it is to make time for our own development, even when life feels full. Investing in yourself doesn’t just build your skills; it builds your confidence, your resilience, and your capacity to inspire others. As I look ahead, I hope to keep learning, keep growing, and help others do the same."
Congratulations, Emma, on this incredible achievement! 💜
