This programme is designed for apprentices who want to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours for a job role as a community activator coach. The community activator coach promotes, delivers and coaches fun, engaging and inclusive activities that help whole communities to change their behaviour, adopt and keep to a physically active lifestyle.

In this role you will play a big role in improving the health and wellbeing of the local community, you will also be tasked with creating a positive environment which supports people to grow and develop through sport and physical activity.

Community Activator Coaches are normally employed by a number of different companies and charities which can include

  • Social Change charities

  • Local authorities

  • Sports Clubs

In their daily work, a sports coach interacts with and influences the coaching team including assistant coaches, coaches, managers, sponsors, boards and wider industry support networks. They do this through the design and delivery of their own coaching philosophy and professional practices in line with the organisational visions, strategies, policies and process.

When completing this apprenticeship there are three different pathways for the learner to choose. The three pathways to choose from are:

  • High Performance Sports Coach

  • Community Sports Coach

  • School Sports Coach
